We need a real solution the issues we all suffer with due to the Dartford Crossing, and the proposed Lower Thames Crossing is NOT it. The LTC is a highly destructive project and it is not fit for purpose. By Highways England's own data even if LTC goes ahead the Dartford Crossing will still be over capacity. The connections between the LTC and the existing road network is not fit for purpose either, and they haven't taken into consideration how traffic will migrate between the two crossings when there is an incident, if LTC goes ahead. As well as being hugely destructive to homes, lives, greenbelt, agricultural land, ancient woodland, countryside, communities, and so much more, the LTC is not fit for purpose and will create more congestion and pollution. We need and deserve better. Check out www.tcag.info for more info.
Bridge/tunnel crossing the Crouch. Consideration to a route north from Southend Rochford across the River Crouch ..allowing traffic to travel north and reduce bottle neck at Rawreth
Such a network would encourage sustainable transport, and encourage good exercise habits making a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of residents. The roads now are so busy that it is too dangerous to ride a horse or cycle in many places and this must change otherwise people will not want to get out and about.
